LITTLE ROCK, Ark.– After hours of emotional debate Tuesday night, the Pulaski County Quorum Court approved a one-year moratorium on future large-scale data center development in unincorporated areas of the county, while carving out an exception for the controversial AVAIO project near the Sweet Home community.
The ordinance passed by a narrow margin late Tuesday night after justices approved a last-minute amendment grandfathering in the AVAIO development.
That means no future data center projects can move forward in unincorporated Pulaski County for the next 12 months, but AVAIO’s project will still be allowed to continue…
