Rain doesn’t dampen opening day of Macungie Farmers Market

The Macungie Farmers Market opened its 20th year May 21. Approximately 20 vendors are available to share information, services and goods to interested shoppers. In addition, a food truck and ice cream truck are present each week for shoppers to enjoy a meal or treat while shopping.

Visitors’ first stop should be at the information booth where you can secure a special 20th Anniversary Farmers Market reusable bag from organizers Doris Horner, Rose Nonnemacher, Chris Boehm and Angela Faidley. Visitors are given a loyalty card where vendors provide a stamp for purchases. Visitors can earn double stamps on rainy days. Completed loyalty cards are placed in a bin for a monthly raffle in which the winner receives a coupon book for the market vendors.

Vendors can vary each week, so shoppers are encouraged to check the website each week to see which vendors will be available. Items available, but not limited to, include a variety of produce, plants, seafood, pastries, sourdough, teas, wine and eggs…
