Beach Boulevard Braces For Burger Invasion As Cook Out Moves In

Jacksonville’s first Cook Out is about to fire up the grills. The North Carolina burger chain is targeting a late-May debut at the former Freddy’s on Beach Boulevard, bringing its chargrilled burgers and sprawling milkshake lineup to a high-traffic stretch of the metro. Expect a fresh late-night, drive-thru option for both beach-bound crowds and nearby neighbors.

According to the Jacksonville Business Journal, the Beach Boulevard spot is slated to open late this month as Cook Out’s first Jacksonville location, with plans to roll out its signature chargrilled burgers and more than 40 milkshake flavors. The outlet notes that the chain’s value-focused “trays” and drive-thru setup are expected to be key features of the new restaurant.

Former Freddy’s On Beach Boulevard Will Be Reworked

As reported by the Jacksonville Daily Record, Cook Out purchased the closed Freddy’s at 14016 Beach Blvd. in the Beach Haven area for about $2.75 million and registered Cook Out-Beach Blvd Inc. earlier this year. The city signed off on a renovation permit November 25 for an $819,600 conversion of the 3,355-square-foot building on nearly an acre, according to the report.
