Rounds of rain to dampen the days leading into the weekend in Northeast Florida, Southeast Georgia

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A somewhat rainy afternoon and evening continues through Wednesday night due to high heat and strong southerly tropical moisture. Add in the East Coast sea breeze, and raindrops are falling at times with more expected to build inland as the afternoon heat continues to mix with the merging sea breezes. Feels like temperatures will stay in the 95-105 degree range through Friday.

More widespread rain and storms are expected on Thursday and Friday, lasting through the weekend and into next week. As much as the rain is needed, localized flooding could occur during heavy downpours. Some areas could see as much as 5 inches by Tuesday next week. Stormy weather can include heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and gusty winds.
