ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Tuesday night, Roanoke City Public Schools leaders approved a rezoning of some elementary school students as a way to solve overcrowding. This comes as officials prepare to open a new, larger Preston Park Elementary School this fall.
The rezoning will affect families currently enrolled at Monterey, Round Hill, Lincoln Terrace, Preston Park and Fallon Park Elementary. School officials said the goal is to reduce class sizes across the district.
