A North Texas man apparently wanted to see what his Tesla Cybertruck could do in the water. Grapevine police say the test did not go the way he may have hoped.
Officers responded to Grapevine Lake on Monday, May 18, after a Cybertruck was found in the water near Katie’s Woods Park Boat Ramp. Police said the driver intentionally drove the vehicle into the lake to test the Cybertruck’s “Wade Mode” feature before the truck became disabled and began taking on water.
The driver was arrested after the incident, and the Grapevine Fire Department’s Water Rescue Team was called to help remove the vehicle from the lake. Everyone inside reportedly made it out safely.

Police said the Cybertruck was driven into a restricted section of Grapevine Lake, which is part of why the driver ended up facing charges.
