NWS reports slight improvements in drought conditions

Northern Central Arkansas remains very dry

The National Weather (NWS) service is reporting a slight improvement to statewide drought conditions although north central Arkansas still remains in moderate to exceptional drought.

No burn bans as of Tuesday morning in the whole state.

Recent rains have helped to improve conditions with Arkansas Forestry showing no burn bans statewide and wildfire danger remains low. As of Wednesday morning rain totals for the month of May were at 2.59 inches at KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot, the official reporting station in Mountain Home for the NWS. More rainfall is forecasted through the week but totals remain below the average for the area of around five inches in May…
