RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Thousands of pounds of food collected during this year’s Stamp Out Hunger food drive will help provide more than 54,000 meals to South Dakotans facing food insecurity, according to Feeding South Dakota.
The annual drive, organized by the National Association of Letter Carriers, was held May 9 and asked residents to leave nonperishable food donations by their mailboxes for pickup.
Officials said letter carriers collected nearly 14,000 pounds of food in Rapid City and more than 45,000 pounds in Sioux Falls. The effort also brought in $1,570 in monetary donations…
