SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4) — There is a vehicle fire on I-80, leading to eastbound lane closures and significant delays.
According to the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), there is a vehicle fire on eastbound I-80 near milepost 130, which is in Parley’s Canyon. Due to this vehicle fire, eastbound I-80 is completely closed to traffic.
According to Utah Highway Patrol, a semitruck was fully engulfed, and crews are actively working to put out the fire. Fortunately, the driver was able to get out of the vehicle.
Initial reports state that the closures will be in place until 5:45 p.m., though that may be subject to change. Travelers should avoid the area and seek alternate routes, if possible. There will be heavy delays in the area…
