IRMO, S.C. — Families in Irmo are picking up the pieces after severe flooding over the weekend left homes submerged and residents scrambling to escape rising water in the Stonegate neighborhood off Koon Road.
Residents say the flooding happened quickly as heavy rainfall overwhelmed the area on Saturday, forcing some families to evacuate through waist-deep water.
