FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Tucked away near the Fort Wayne International Airport on Winters Road now lies a large plot of land, but years ago it was much more than that.
The land housed the former Baer Field Raceway, a track in Fort Wayne that brought people and big name NASCAR legends to the area, such as Dale Earnhardt and Rusty Wallace.
