Rain this week will help persistent drought conditions

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) — We just received the latest drought monitor and there were no changes to the drought conditions across the area.

It is important to note, while the rain is coming down and will do so over the next 7 days at least, the drought monitor stops collecting data on Tuesdays. That means the ongoing rain for the rest of the week will be reflected in the drought conditions next week.

Despite a consistent pattern of morning showers and afternoon rain inland, the extreme drought continues for inland Palm Beach County and for the Treasure Coast close to Lake Okeechobee…
