OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The City of Oklahoma City is inviting residents to help name a new sculpture that will stand outside the future MAPS 4-funded OKC Louisa McCune Animal Welfare Center.
The new animal welfare center is currently under construction behind the existing facility and will feature a larger-than-life dog sculpture, standing at 14 feet tall and 20 feet long, that is designed to welcome everyone who visits the new building.
Crafted from carbon steel, the artwork depicts a dog whose wind-blown fur transitions into rust-colored metal rods resembling tangled tree branches: part dog, part Oklahoma wind, part guardian.
