Tulsa ministry aims to feed 100k children this summer

TULSA, Okla. – Bridging Hunger ministry started with a mission to feed the most vulnerable people in Oklahoma. Rod Baker and his wife, Gloria started with a team, including David Markham, to feed the hungry.

“Churches that were out in Oklahoma that were in food starved areas that didn’t have resources. So we launched this nine years ago, wanting to reach those areas. And it has since grown to where we’re ministering to people in those areas of about 30 counties or more, with about 200 churches,” said Markham, who is Operations Director.

Goal to Feed Thousands in Summer Mission

Besides feeding seniors and the homeless, the ministry is hoping to feed 100,000 children this summer.

“You know, we’ve seen statistics that show we’re sixth in the nation for senior citizens that are that are going to bed hungry. We’re fourth in the nation for children that are going to bed hungry. So we’re now helping,” said Markham…
