Governor Kelly tours new mental health hospital in Sedgwick County

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Gov. Laura Kelly toured the South Central Regional Mental Health Hospital on Tuesday, a new mental health facility with a 104-bed capacity.

“This is the first new state mental health hospital built in Kansas in over a century,” Kelly said.

The hospital broke ground a little over a year ago. The outer work appears to be finished, though work inside the facility continues. Once finished the hospital will serve Sedgwick, Butler, Cowley, Harvey, and Sumner counties.

Partnership with law enforcement
