FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) is reminding customers to be aware of phone and in-person utility scams.
The reminder comes after the utility company says it has received more than 75 scam reports over the past month.
“While scams happen year-round, some tactics are seasonal,” Katie Runkle, I&M’s Vice President of Customer Experience and External Affairs, said. “As the weather warms up, we are seeing an uptick of scammers out and about, impersonating our employees and showing up at customers’ homes, threatening disconnection.”…
