A New York resident has claimed a $4 million prize from the Mega Millions lottery drawing, capitalizing on a fortunate multiplier that boosted his winnings.

George John of Brooklyn matched the first five numbers in the March 27 drawing, which would typically yield $1 million. However, a randomly assigned 4X Multiplier on his ticket quadrupled the prize to $4 million.
