Public health alert issued as e-bike injuries in children climb in San Diego County

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A public health alert is now in effect in San Diego County following a rise in e-bike crashes and injuries involving children.

Board Chair Tara Lawson-Remer made the announcement in a press release Thursday.

“I just see so many kids doing things that are so unsafe,” said Lawson-Remer, whose District 3 covers Carlsbad to Coronado, along with some inland urban areas. She believes the public health alert is a critical step.
