New York state will chip in $115 million for a massive sewage plant expansion in Onondaga County to serve Micron Technology and the population boom it’s expected to fuel in Syracuse’s northern suburbs.
State lawmakers included the money in the $268 billion budget signed into law Thursday by Gov. Kathy Hochul, according to state Sen. Chris Ryan, D-Geddes.
The state aid could help ease the burden on residential ratepayers who will be asked to pay for the $549.5 million expansion of the Oak Orchard sewage treatment plant in Clay. It is one of the single costliest infrastructure projects in the county’s history…
