Several streets in Freeport are closed for construction, according to a community announcement.
Which roads are closed?
Work is underway on W. Main Street between Van Buren and Chicago. The downtown municipal lot is also closed through June 15, according to the announcement.
Several residential streets are also affected:
- Gladewood Drive: April 28 – June
- Concord Drive: May 4 – July
- Seminole Drive: May 18 – July
- Dewey Street: May 20 – July
Residents can sign up for weekly updates by texting the street name followed by “FREEPORT” to 91896 (for example, GLADEWOODFREEPORT).
What should drivers expect?
Construction areas are expected to reopen at the end of each workday. Residents will be able to access their driveways but may experience delays, according to the announcement.
