Albuquerque Fire Rescue releases video of crews battling difficult mobile home park fire

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Fire Rescue released video showing firefighters battling a fire at a trailer park in March. The tight quarters in the trailer park made it even harder, with fire crews having to lay 800 feet of hose to reach a hydrant. It was a close call since they usually only bring 1,000 feet to a call.

The video came from an internal review, that are rarely viewed by the public. “This gives an opportunity for crews that weren’t on scene to get some of those lessons learned,” said Lt. Jason Fejer, Albuqeurque Fire Rescue.

Reviews like these are made for fires that have unique challenges, and they can lead to changes in how they teach recruits. Despite the additional danger from the mobile home fire, all residents were evacuated in time…
