Sheriff: Viral police impersonator post not reported to law enforcement

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Pickens County Sheriff Tommy Blankenship is urging residents to report suspicious activity directly to law enforcement after a viral social media post warning of a police impersonator began circulating.

The Facebook post, which has been widely shared, warns parents to tell their daughters to call 911 and drive to a public area if pulled over by a suspicious vehicle. The post also claimed that local authorities knew about the impersonator but were choosing to allow it to continue.
