GREENSBORO, N.C. — Google is great. You put in a question, and it gives you an answer. But you need to be careful. For example, if you just put in DMV because you want to renew your license, you could come up with MyDMV (NCDOT.gov), or you could come up with the side DMV.com. It’s a third-party site that helps you navigate the process for an extra fee.
And while it says it’s not affiliated with the government sites, a lot of people miss it because they’re concentrated on getting the task done.
