WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A 29-year-old woman is in custody following an investigation into a reported firearm discharge earlier this week.
The Wilmington Police Department (WPD) said officers responded to the 700 block of Chestnut Street around 9:53 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, after receiving a report of a resident discharging a firearm.
Officers say they identified Mekenzie Keese of Wilmington as the suspect. Keese was taken into custody on Thursday after WPD served a warrant at a residence on Chestnut Street.
