WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Drivers traveling to and from Wrightsville Beach should prepare for overnight lane closures on the Causeway Drive bridge beginning next week.
The N.C. Department of Transportation announced that contract crews will begin drilling operations through the bridge deck for testing on June 1. The work will take place on the Causeway Drive bridge, part of U.S. 76 over Banks Channel, between North Channel Drive and Waynick Boulevard.
To accommodate the project, nightly lane closures will be in effect Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. During those hours, both eastbound lanes will be closed while the two westbound lanes will be reconfigured to allow a single lane of traffic in each direction…
