BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Workers from the Jennie B. Richmond nursing home in Springville were notified Friday that the home plans to close.
The 40 workers were notified by 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East that the New York State Department of Health approved a plan to close the facility.
“These closures are overwhelming for our rural communities,” 1199 SEIU said in a statement. “The New York Department of Health must do more to protect not only the residents, but the dedicated healthcare workers who care for them.”…
