Local leaders promote summer programs to keep youth safe and engaged

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — As students begin their summer break, local leaders across the Triad are encouraging families to take advantage of programs designed to keep children and teenagers active, engaged and safe during the months ahead.

While summer vacation is often a time of excitement and freedom for young people, officials say a lack of structured activities can sometimes lead to problems.
