Cold front to roll through Piedmont Triad over weekend

(WGHP) — A mix of sun and clouds early this evening with temperatures in the low 80s. Humidity continues to remain low, making for a quiet and refreshing end of the work week. Overnight clouds will gradually increase, leaving us with mostly cloudy skies by Saturday morning.

A cold front will begin to make its way northward into Saturday morning, which is one of the reasons for the increase in cloud cover. At the same time, a cold front will approach from the north, leaving the Piedmont Triad almost sandwiched between the two fronts. Because of this “tug-of-war” between fronts, we’ll start Saturday with mostly cloudy skies and become partly cloudy into the afternoon.

Spotty showers and an isolated storm are possible in the southern Piedmont on Saturday, primarily southern Davidson, southern Randolph and Montgomery counties. The chance for rain is 20%. Temperatures will be in the mid 60s in the morning with highs reaching the low to mid 80s. The two fronts will also make it a little bit muggy for the first half of the day with drier air filtering in for the evening…
