Gage Park House Fire Kills Man Who Started It and Destroys Neighboring Homes
A quiet Thursday evening in Chicago’s Gage Park neighborhood turned deadly, and it wasn’t an accident.
A 56-year-old man reportedly set fire to his own home on the 5000 block of South Campbell Avenue around 6:40 p.m. He didn’t make it out alive.
And by the time firefighters got it under control, three homes on that block were damaged beyond repair.
