Illinois lawmakers are racing towards the end of the legislative session Sunday night, with no resolution yet on a state budget or a bill aimed at keeping the Chicago Bears from moving across state lines.
Governor JB Pritzker presented a $56 billion spending plan to lawmakers in February, citing uncertainty about the state’s financial future. But as negotiation over a spending plan enter their final hours, some state lawmakers are expressing frustration with the Governor over expired pandemic-era federal funding.
