SANDY, Utah (ABC4) — A senior dog adoption from a local shelter proved to be much more when its owner from over a decade ago recognized the cuddly canine.
After living life as an indoor dog, life changed for 12-year-old Posty when a child was brought into the family. Unfortunately, Posty’s size and energy were too much, and she would occasionally knock over the young child, so she was moved outdoors. She was often trying to get back into the home by hopping the fence. The difficult living arrangement obligated the family to make the decision to surrender her to Sandy City Animal Services.
The shelter said, “Despite everything, staff have already seen glimpses of the sweet girl she is — especially when she gets outside and suddenly bursts into joyful little zoomies around the yard.”

After a local concerned citizen, Kristen Reams, shared a post with a desperate plea for someone to rescue Posty, the unthinkable happened when it reached someone who thought the pup looked familiar.
Reams has adopted multiple animals from different Utah shelters, but once she reached the capacity for animals she can legally own, she diverted her efforts to social media. She looks across Utah’s shelters for animals suffering from shelter life, kennel stress, or having a difficult time getting adopted. She will share the animals needing help on her personal social media page and a variety of Facebook groups as a way to assist shelters…
