LOUDONVILLE—The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake boys’ lacrosse team faced plenty of adversity this season with injuries to several seniors, forcing the Spartans’ younger players to grow up quickly.
On Saturday, the experience those younger players gained paid off as No. 1 Burnt Hills rallied past No. 3 Averill Park 9-6 in the Section 2 Class C title game at Siena University’s Hickey Field.
“This was a game where you could tell that some of them have been playing all season because they were thrown in the fire in March versus relying on our seniors,” Burnt Hills coach Ian Schwan-Tetreault said. “I thought they did a great job responding and stepping up for us.”…
