Woman badly injured in hit-and-run crash at busy Fresno intersection, police say

A woman is in serious condition Friday after she was hit by a hit-and-run vehicle in Fresno. The crash happened at 10:30 p.m. at Belmont and Chestnut avenues.

When officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old woman lying in the street suffering from severe injuries to her upper torso and head, Fresno Police Lt. Michael Pierce said.

Police said the woman was unconscious and not breathing. Officers began CPR until fire and EMS arrived on scene and took over first aid procedures…
