DES MOINES, Iowa — Nearly two weeks after Lauridsen Skatepark indefinitely closed its bathrooms due to “extreme” vandalism, officials said they have arrested the man allegedly responsible for the damage.
According to Polk County officials, 21-year-old Jeffrey Krugler vandalized the bathrooms around 7 p.m. on Monday, May 18, leaving them with shattered toilets and damage to stall walls.
At the time, maintenance staff estimated the cost for repair would be over $10,000. The Polk County Conservation, which runs the skatepark, has not specified the final cost. The repairs will include materials that can withstand future vandalism…
