TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The first four champions of the Section 2 softball playoffs were crowned Saturday at Lansingburgh High School.
Class A’s Averill Park, B’s Chatham, C’s Galway and D’s Fort Ann all secured section titles. For Chatham, it was the program’s second title in a row, while the other three teams snapped 7+-year title droughts. Fort Ann returned to the winner’s circle for the first time since 2019, Averill Park hoisted its first plaque since 2018 and Galway’s only other championship came way back in 1988.

- Class A – No. 2 Averill Park defeats No. 4 Glens Falls, 13-1, in six innings
- Class B – No. 1 Chatham defeats No. 3 Hoosick Falls, 7-0
- Class D – No. 3 Fort Ann defeats No. 1 Argyle, 2-1
- Class C – No. 1 Galway defeats No. 2 Greenwich, 10-7
The championship games for Class AAA & AA will be held Monday at Lansingburgh at 4:00 and 6:30 p.m., respectively…
