- Warming trend through Tuesday
- A couple more cool nights
- Likely dry until next weekend
STAYING COMFORTABLE THIS WEEKEND
High temperatures got into the upper 60s around the metro area- a very beautiful and comfortable Saturday!
We’ll see even more sunshine Sunday, which will help us warm up a bit more quickly. We’re still expecting seasonable temperatures in the low to mid 70s around Portland.
The drier air means nights stay cool (in the 40s) through Monday morning.
BRIEFLY HOT TO KICK OFF JUNE
A ridge of high pressure strengthens overhead Monday and Tuesday, pushing our highs into much-warmer-than-average territory. We’ll peak on Tuesday with some metro area spots likely hitting 90.
Monday marks June 1st in Portland! While average high temperatures (historically) stay in the 70s, we start to see more frequent glimpses of hot weather. Portland averages two days at or above 90 degrees in a typical June. It is also our fourth driest month in the Rose City, with an average of 1.63″ of rainfall.
SHOWER CHANCES RETURN NEXT WEEKEND
A much stronger westerly flow Wednesday through Friday cools us back down into the 70s and brings us partly to mostly cloudy skies. We’ll have some weak shower chances, but models are indicating we’re likely staying dry until Friday or Saturday. We’re more certain a showery system arrives at some point Saturday, but it’s looking weaker than it did Friday night. At best, we’ll get a few showers out of it…
