Virginia Tech 2027 commit Peter Bourque puts on an eye-opening show at Elite 11 Finals

When Peter Bourque de-committed from the University of Michigan in December, it reopened the recruiting for one of the top quarterbacks in the Class of 2027. Before he committed to the Wolverines, the Tabor Academy star from Massachusetts had some of the top programs looking to land him.

One of those schools was Penn State. Former head coach James Franklin and his quarterbacks coach, Danny O’Brien, were heavily involved in his recruiting. Bourque ultimately picked Michigan over several other schools, including Penn State.

Franklin would be fired from Penn State in October after three straight losses. He didn’t stay unemployed for long, as just over a month later, he landed back on his feet at Virginia Tech after the search committee, formed after Franklin’s former defensive coordinator, Brent Pry, was fired after three-plus years in charge in Blacksburg, targeted him…
