BEDFORD, Va. (WDBJ) – Twenty five years ago, thousands of people gathered on the grounds of the National D-Day Memorial for the first time.
They were there to honor the men who landed on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944 and turned the tide of World War II in Europe.
And they came to pay tribute to the monumental sacrifice felt in Bedford and in other small towns and big cities across the country…
