DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department says two suspects are in custody, and authorities continue work to identify the third in the downtown arson case.
Des Moines Police says officers and Des Moines Fire Department personnel were called to the Krause Gateway Center, located at 1459 Grand Avenue, shortly after 1 a.m. on Friday, on reports of a fire in front of the building.
Officials say evidence indicates three people covered a sofa in flammable liquid and set it on fire. Des Moines Fire says the resulting blaze caused significant damage to the sidewalk in front of 1459 Grand Avenue.
