Long-running narcotics investigation ends with arrests at train station in Rensselaer

Rensselaer, NY (WRGB) — A long-running narcotics investigation that began in November 2024 ended with two Brooklyn men in custody after New York State Police said they stepped off a train and were arrested without incident.

On May 29, 2026, members of the New York State Police Troop K Community Stabilization Unit arrested 45-year-old Lorenzo Moore and 26-year-old Markeim Lewis both of Brooklyn, following the investigation. As it progressed, state police developed information that Moore and Lewis frequently used rail transportation in furtherance of criminal activity.

State Police said CSU members located Moore and Lewis after they exited a train on May 29 and took them into custody without incident. Investigators said they recovered about 279 grams of crack cocaine, 54 grams of fentanyl, a Taurus .40-caliber handgun and $3,450 in cash…
