MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Alabama Department of Transportation(ALDOT) will temporarily close a portion of I-65 this week for bridge repairs, according to officials.
ALDOT will close I-65 northbound at Exit 318 at Lacon on Tuesday around 6 p.m. to repair the deck of the northbound bridge over the CSX railroad. According to ALDOT, the closure will continue into Wednesday, and all northbound traffic will be detoured to US-31.
According to officials, the time it takes to repair the bridge and the duration of the closure will depend on how much time crews are allowed to work. Crews can only work when there is no train traffic…
