At the stroke of midnight, many find themselves “aging out,” facing independence with little more than the belongings they can carry, oftentimes in a garbage bag.
The stark reality is that by the time they reach this critical juncture, these resilient individuals have, on average, experienced thirteen different homes, never truly knowing the stability or comfort of a space that is their own. While the state offers a small apartment and basic essentials, for those who choose to reinstate into the system, the yearning for a personalized sanctuary – a place to truly belong – often remains unfulfilled.
Enter MY VIBE, an inspiring and innovative program under The Foster Care Council and spearheaded by the compassionate vision of its creator and director, Buffy Lawson.
