A Polk City man was arrested May 23 after he allegedly assaulted a Waukee woman outside a Waukee tavern.
Daniel James Simmer, 36, of 610 Davis St., Polk City, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, first-offense possession of a controlled substance-marijuana and public intoxication.
