JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A line formed outside Jackson Zoo before gates opened on Saturday, a sign of renewed interest following a grant-funded makeover.
The Zoo Area Progressive Partnership used a grant from the Community Foundation of Mississippi to fund the project. The makeover includes new signs, new banners, brighter colors, a repainted splash pad, and interactive games for kids.
“At 9:50 today, there was a line outside Jackson Zoo. So that’s what we’re looking to continue,” a ZAP representative said.
