Taking to the air seemed to pay off pretty well for the local Class 6A and 4A track and field athletes during their respective state championships this past weekend at Hayward Field in Eugene.
Phoenix senior Ethan Dobbins reached the pinnacle with his winning effort in the high jump during the 4A meet, while North Medford senior Hesston Likens soared to second place in the pole vault and South Medford senior Joey Clevenger was third in the high jump during the 6A meet to serve as highlights.
