Washington Semi-Truck Driver Injured in Southern Idaho Crash

JEROME, ID — A semi-truck driver was hospitalized Monday morning after a single-vehicle crash that temporarily closed eastbound Interstate 84 near Jerome.

According to Idaho State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 5:40 a.m. on June 1 near milepost 200. A 28-year-old man from Puyallup, Washington, was traveling eastbound in a 2007 Kenworth semi-truck when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a delineator post and guardrail, and then caught fire.

The fire was extinguished, and the driver was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. Troopers reported he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash…
