MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Mount Pleasant police are urging residents to stay alert as scammers continue to steal large sums of money from victims across the community, with more than 130 fraud cases reported so far this year and losses in the millions.
Detective Ivey with the Mount Pleasant Police Department says scammers are becoming more sophisticated and are targeting people of all ages, not just older adults. “We are seeing people in their 20s, 30s getting scammed as well,” he said.
