FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The Fort Wayne Muslim community is reacting to recent comments from Indiana Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith.
Beckwith made the remarks during an appearance on a Christian talk show called “FlashPoint.” He said he “hates Islam” and called it a “demonic death cult.”
The imam at the Universal Education Foundation in Fort Wayne says the lieutenant governor’s comments are creating division and fear. Imam Hamzah Sharif says he felt compelled to address the comments because they’re coming from the second-highest-ranking public official in the state.
