TENNESSEE (WHNT) — Tennessee’s statewide ban on kratom is set to take effect July 1 under legislation known as the “Matthew Davenport’s Law.”
After July 1, possessing kratom will become a Class A misdemeanor across the state.
The Giles County Sheriff’s Office posted on social media regarding the new changes, which state that:
- Manufacturing, delivering, or selling kratom is a Class C felony
- Delivering or selling kratom to a minor is a Class B felony
