‘There’s not much of a middle class’: Transitional housing proposed for Williamson County homeless

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Williamson County Homeless Alliance wants to build a transitional housing community on city-owned property off Old Carters Creek Pike next to a rock quarry.

Pastor Kevin Riggs, executive director of the alliance, said the facility would serve people facing housing insecurity. The plan calls for residents to stay for a period of time — ranging from one night to two years — while they work, save money and move into their own place.

“It’s really more difficult to be below the poverty line in Franklin than it is in Nashville because of that income gap,” Riggs said…
